BGLH gets a mention in the latest issue of ARISE Magazine

I’m still trying to get my hands on a pdf of the story that we were interviewed for (about natural hair, of course) and I’ll post it as soon as I get it. But here’s the cover. Go to the magazine’s home page HERE.

Yes! I just read this article today - really good. I also introduced the guy sitting next to me in the bookstore to Arise, which is one of my favorite fashion mags. Very nice!

Really dumb question guys...the hairstyle on the front of the magazine is the same one thats the blog header. Is this a popular style, if so do you know the name...and if theres a tutorial. Thanks!

This article is very interesting.I think it's important for black women to know that they don't have to put chemicals in their hair to be beautiful. To me natural hair is way more healthier than natural hair.Visit Urban Belle Magazine, an online magazine for women of color. Hi, I'm a 16 year old girl and I was wondering if you would consider me being in your blog? I am about to do a step by step post on how to get your hair curly with oil, braiding and without heat. I start by undoing the twists in my hair, then washing and conditioning, braiding hair when wet and when dry with gel. I'd like to link your blog to mine. Here's my email: livi808@gmail.com. I would really love to be a part of your blog. Thank you!

I transitioned almost two years ago. It was the best decision that I made for my hair and my purse!

I had lots of help from hair care blogs, youtube, and black hair forums.

Thanks for being apart of this community.

Hey I am 16 and I am absolutely sure that I want to wear my hair natural. Unfortunately my mother won't let me until I go away for college. So in the meantime I am trying to gather as much info as possible. I was wondering if there is a section of the site were I can ask questions about hairstyles in particular?
